The workspace as a service provider Unicorn Workspaces invites to a Christmas party for Unicorns & Friends at Prince Charles, a famous club in the heart of Kreuzberg – to look back on a successful year full of new openings.
B2018 marks the year of the unicorn. Individual working spaces, team rooms or even entire team floors, meeting rooms, healthy catering and a community barista as office manager – the Unicorn principle works. Only three years after its founding and the opening of the first space, the company was able to more than quadruple its range of premises.
It all started in 2015 with the establishment of the pioneer location in Berlin Mitte. Only a year later the Unicorn Brunnenviertel and the associated oasis for foodies, the Canteen, opened doors on top. Left alone this year, another three locations have been established. As a first step of the ongoing growth course, the Unicorn AEG situated in the northern part of Mitte celebrated its launch in April. Up until now, the work areas are almost fully booked. This success was followed in May by the inauguration of the largest office to date in Schlüterstrasse. In a listed building that lies in the heart of Berlin-Charlottenburg next to well-known Kurfürstendamm, it holds capacities for up to 260 coworkers spread over two floors. Last but not least, the Schöneberg edition located in Kleiststrasse was launched in September this year. Currently this office is exclusively rented to the digitalisation platform and 100 % subsidiary of Commerzbank called #openspace. It is safe to say that this is only the beginning of the rise of the Berlin-based company and ambitious future plans are already being forged. As CEO and co-founder Florian Kosak states: “Unicorn does not understand itself primary as a shared office provider. Instead we like to position ourselves as a customer centric service that offers workspace as a service. We believe in a whole Unicorn experience and in order to stick to our vision to provide affordable workspace for companies and individuals as sustainably as possible, we plan to expand. In the future we want to become even more accessible and therefore launch new spaces in Berlin and all around Europe”
With this year’s growth in work spaces and the increasing focus on workspace as a service instead of coworking, the enterprise managed by Kosak is not only reacting to the growing demand for all-inclusive office space in the German capital. Instead it also addresses the needs of young, fast-growing companies, which are often not compatible with the classic conditions of coworking. Therefore, in order to continue to respond to the growth of demand and remain true to the Unicorn philosophy, the opening of further Berlin locations located in Mitte, Wedding as well as Neukölln have already been confirmed for 2019. A highlight in particular is the so called Village in Neukölln. Situated in a charming former four-sided courtyard that was originally a dairy farm and spread on more than 2,100m², different space concepts are realised on over three floors. In order to fit every need, there will be shared offices for two as well as medium-sized team offices and a space with loft character that can accommodate up to 30 coworkers.
But before the Unicorn continues to implement its visions in 2019, the workspace provider would like to take the time to look back at the milestones reached so far. Therefore it welcomes its Unicorns and friends on Thursday, December 13th from 7pm to 4am to a X-Mas Bash at Prince Charles including drinks, live DJ-sets and lots of possibilities to network and to dance the night away. Musically, Finn Johannsen, who has already worked at the legendary Hard Wax Store, will make you put on your dancing shoes. Another highlight for enthusiasts of electronic music will be the nights closing by DJ and producer Ed Ed who has released on well-known labels Moodmusic Records and Watergate Records. Friends of Unicorns are cordially invited to celebrate the end of a successful year. More information about the line-up and program can be found here.
